St. Louis Vascular Center
The physicians of the St. Louis Vascular Center are the exclusive vascular surgeons serving St. John’s Mercy Medical Center. The Vascular Surgical Center is based in the St. John’s Mercy Medical Center Heart Hospital.
The Heart Hospital opened in June of 2006 and is a state-of-the-art facility with, to name only a few things, 96 private patient rooms with accommodations for family members, 9 procedure laboratories, and five operating rooms. For more information about the Heart Hospital, click here.

The surgeons include:
West County Surgical Specialists, Inc. includes vascular, breast, colo-rectal and general surgeons. Dr. Mantese and Dr. Pennell were among the initial partners of the practice. Dr. Westfall joined the practice in 1999. In November of 2006, the vascular surgeons of West County Surgical Specialists, Inc. moved their offices into the St. Louis Vascular Center suite at the Heart Hospital.
